Here is a link to a clean downloadable copy of MS Agent 2.0 that works.

http://download.cnet.com/Microsoft-Agent-Character-Editor/3000-2206_4-897540.html

I guess we need to burn off a copy for the day this link stops supporting the download.

Hope this helps

Hello:

first thanks to provide this sw as a freeware,i think this is a useful tool that can help a lot of people who really needs it
On my case I`m trying to setup the tool to allow my father to speak, he loss the voice with the age and I want to test if this can help

I customize the toel, really easy and cover what I need.
The problem is that I get a ms crash when I try to change the template and now I can’t open the it, if I change the data ‘dv’ file it works -> could be there is a limit on the number of themes I can create? (probably I make I quite complex definition)
there is any way to recover the dv file so It can be opened? any way to get the source code to check if someone can helpme on that?

I can also provide the dv file if you send me an email, but in any case any indication will be apreciated

another question : there is any way to run that on linux ?

thanks in advance for your help

I continue to get 404 errors and when I try to download the ms agent components I get a message that says the file cannot be found.

    Hi Skuntz,
Downloading pVoice should never result in a 404 error. You may be right that there are broken links on the MS Agent download page. That page refers to downloads on other websites. I’ll go through the links on that page soon and remove/correct broken links.

Thanks very much. I look forward to hearing from you.
So. You are offering a promising product for free and you are willing to go the distance to support technical difficulties… wow, I don’t get that kind of service from anyone in the tech world for items I have paid for including Microsoft – that is why I run Linux! Perhaps you would consider a Linux version?

Just so you know, on the second machine I tried to install it on I get this message “error opening http:/activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls2/tv_enua.exe. The server returned status code 404.”

          Hi,
This seems to be an annoying problem. Microsoft has discontinued everything that has to do with the MS Agent, and it seems it has removed most (not all) links on their site.
I currently don’t have a good idea on how this can be solved.
If you’re installing this on Windows XP or higher, you don’t need to install these additional files, since you can use SAPI5 there. Unless I’m terribly mistaking, the installation will succeed.

          Cheers,

          Jouke
